Arrival
Good Day To You,
At this time of year we reflect on the coming of Jesus at Christmas. The arrival, or “Advent,” begins with the call to remember that those who have Hope in the promises of God will see the fulfillment. Just as the people of God hoped in the promised Messiah for many years, we hope in His coming again or his personal calling for us when our days are complete.
But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. 1 John 3:2,3
All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
How is that possible? How can we be pure like the Savior? How can impure put on purity, unholy become holy?
This purity from Jesus is not acquired by means of our own work or ability. It’s “provided” purity, imparted to us by grace, given freely to those who believe, trust in Jesus Christ and have a strong hope in Jesus.
Hope is the longing that moves our choices and desires to align with his plan and heart. Hope is the intentionality that fixes our destiny. When you learn to ride a bike or drive a motorcycle, you are taught that wherever your vision is directed determines your path. Where you look and cast your focus will determine where you will arrive. What I truly yearn for, this I become. The Father truly gives us the desires of our heart.
Where’s your hope? Not a momentary desire. No, the core deep purpose of your soul and spirit. If for Jesus and his Kingdom is what you are longing for, hoping in, then you will arrive at being more like him daily and be with him forever.
