Head Strong

Good Day To You,

This is a true story: A man comes into a bank and hands the teller a hand written note. The note reads, “Be quick, be quiet, give me your cash or I’ll shoot.” The bank teller obliged and handed him $400 from the teller’s drawer.  The robber leaves and is, as we discover, not very bright, for his hand-written message which he left with the teller was scribbled on a piece of his pay slip, complete with his name, phone number and home address.  In a short time he was arrested at home.  There is someone seeking to rip you off and he’s smarter than this robber.  The enemy of our soul seeks to rob and bring harm to you, to anyone carrying the name of Jesus whom he hates.  You and I face battles in the spirit realm as we walk with Christ.We have an adversary that desires to rob our joy, steal our peace and discourage our obedience.   As we are commanded in scripture, “Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Eph. 6:17

The helmet is critical to protect and shield the very center of your life. The head is the governing capital of your existence. It is more than just your thoughts which is extremely important and why it’s the focus of attack. “For as a man thinks, so is he.”

And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision. 1 Samuel 3:1 

We see here in this scripture that Eli the “head” of the spiritual leadership of God’s people was at this time not living clean and pure before the Lord. So the reality of such weak headship was a lack of vision and rare was God’s word of instruction, inspiration and wisdom. 

Your head is much more significant than just your thoughts. It’s your vision, where God is directing you, where you’re going.  It is how and where you hear Holy Spirit and know his comfort and wisdom in time of need. The head is where you process Gods’ word and truth, todeclare it, speak it over your life, your marriage, your family through the spoken word, deed and prayer. 

So it is a priority that we put on the helmet of Christ’s authority and provision on your mind. Know that this is where the adversary is bringing his attack. Refresh your mind that you are submitted to Christ, and greater is he that is in you than he who is in the world. Ponder and recite the truth of God’s word and promises for you, thus washing your mind and keeping it built up. The wonderful fruit of such behavior will be clear vision, and his words will be upon your lips for others.
