Each Time
Because we live in a fallen world and sin is consistently happening around us all the time, we cannot avoid ugly stuff. This ugly stuff comes to us in troubles, afflictions, pain, grief, hardship, trials.
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time. Ps.34:19
God’s word states clearly that we don’t go around or over our troubles, but we go through them. We experience pain, hardship and troubles because we are not removed from our human experience.
But - there’s that one small little word that adds so much, brings so much comfort, for even if we come face to face with these troubles, we have someone that intervenes consistently. The Lord of our life will come and rescue us in these troubling times. The word rescue means that he will defend, bring deliverance, provide aid, security and safety. We will find in these times of trouble and hardship, a specific application of his grace to our need, a rescue. What I have found in walking through various seasons of trouble and affliction is that God seldom comes early, but he is never late. He knows what we need and when we need it.
Remember that many of these afflictions, troubles and setbacks, have nothing to do with you personally. They’re not because of you. They just show up and stick around because we live in a fallen world. So stay righteous, making right actions to please the heart of God, and he will come to your aid and defend you, bringing support and deliverance in times of trouble.
