Silence the Naysayers

Jul 14, 2024

Good Day To You,

When you think of enemies, you most often think of out-and-out combatants or hostile armed forces. In that way many of us would say we don’t have real enemies. But I submit to you that each of us has a variety of enemies in our lives. For instance, you might have hostile thoughts in your mind, stirring up by past mistakes and causing nagging feelings of self-accusation. You might have an enemy between your ears when old tapes play, bringing emotions of insecurity, discouragement or temptation. Some of us have physical enemies. These are people that stand against the progress and grace we find in Christ, the naysayers and downers that stand against us through words and attitudes toward us in a variety of ways, telling us that we won’t succeed. These could be coworkers, neighbors, even family members who ridicule us for our love for God, and make fun of our ethics and values. You and I have enemies of our soul, but what can be done about it? Let me encourage you with this scripture you can pray to release the very strong arm of heaven.

Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me. Ps. 86:17

Ask your Heavenly Father to send you something clear and beneficial that shows the compassion, provision and favor of God on your life, family or business. Believe for it and ask. The writer here was not being selfish but was asking for the quieting of the enemies that he faced by God’s seen reality and favor. We’ve established that you and I have enemies, so pray and ask the heart of the Father for a clear and concrete sign of his hand upon yourlife. This will silence the lies that you hear or the false accusations and contradictory emotions that you feel, and thus shut the mouths of the naysayers. Find your comfort in Christ alone. Seek his help and he will show himself real and show His approval. This is war, so use the ammunition he has provided. Ask, fire away and then wait and see what sign he sends.

Q: What sign makes you hungry when you see it?

Q: Are your enemies on the inside or the outside of your experience?
