Good Day To You,

Why is it when God desires to intervene in the affairs of men that he looks for a person to work through? Why doesn’t he just do it all himself and then make an announcement? Because from the start he chose to work with and through his image, his designated stewards, we have been given responsibility to govern, care, and influence the circle around us by our choices and spirit. 

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

They will “reign over” is from the Hebrew word radah which is closely tied to kingship and governance, to be a leader and govern with the heart and care of the King.

Today we need more engagement from those who know and love the King than ever, not less. For in a world where the culture encourages such ugly selfishness, moral decay along with greed and sexual deviance, those who walk in the light and have tasted of the grace and forgiveness of their creator need to not shrink back or abdicate but reign over their territory. Let it be found first in your marriage and home life where you are finding ways to be present and prayerfully reveal the servant heart of Jesus. Can I encourage moms and dads, grandparents and family members, to steward your life and home with purpose, govern your family with humility and courage. Seek his heart in prayer and devotions, and lead your tribe with a livable faith and a fierce love. This is why you are here, and Holy Spirit will give you insight, wisdom and gifts to help shape the next generation in the ways of Christ. Mother Teresa said, "If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.”
