On the Way

Good Day To You,

As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. Luke 17:12-14

Jesus speaks to those with the need of being made clean. This is amazing that Jesus would interact with these that simply call out for his mercy. He relates to them a clear point of direction and encouragement. These men who heard the words of Christ understood that if they were ever healed of their disease, they had a clear directive to show themselves to the local priest as part of the requirements of the law. Jesus validates their cry and souls by first acknowledging them, looking at them intently and then speaking directly and clearly to them an instruction of hope. We can glean from this interaction that our Savior will speak to those who call out to him. That through the present work of Holy Spirit we will hear his voice. Here are a few practical take-aways from this scripture on hearing the communication of Holy Spirit. When he speaks into your heart and mind these principles will be present.

1. His voice is clear and understood, not confusing.

2. It will be confirmed by the Word of God, the already expressed heart of the Father.

3. It will activate an act of your will, some movement on your part, often outside your comfort level.

4. You will begin an obedience process. Start, step, agree. And God will show up.

Q: What do you respond to better - a loud strong voice or a calm secure voice?

Q: What would be a positive attitude, behavior and mindset if you’re wanting to hear His voice?
