Cloud Storage
Recently, my wife, Jenny got a notification on her phone that her storage was full. She had maxed out the space currently available and she needed to increase to the next level of cloud storage. What caused the multiple gigabytes of memory to be used to full capacity? The one thing my wife loves and enjoys the most are our kids and grandkids and their lives captured in pictures and videos of various birthdays, events, outings, and miscellaneous. Did she pay the extra fee to enlarge the storage space? Of course she did and appropriately so, for there’s more great memories to capture and to remember.
Our Father in Heaven thinks the same way about his children. He values deeply the friendship of love and joy he has with us. When he sees the fruitfulness of his son’s redemptive work being found in his creation, he takes notice and captures it in a book of remembrance.
Then those who feared the LORD spoke with each other, and the LORD listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name. Mal. 3:16
As you and I walk in honor and respect before God, and when we speak to our family or brothers and sisters in Christ, He hears these stories and writes a record of these testimonies of grace.
He captures these stories to file away so they can be recalled and related again for the sake of bringing glory to the Son. Ponder this today, as you declare the good things that God has done and what he’s doing in your life. As you speak of it with your family, your children, your grandchildren or to others in the body of Christ, God takes notice and records it for the future. Let’s continue to give Him something to write about.
The only real difference I can see between what my wife Jenny does with pictures and videos on her phone, and what God our father is doing here in this scripture is that he doesn’t have to pay for cloud storage.
