Good Thinking

Good Day To You,

Making good decisions is so very key to having good results. We can choose with wisdom and confidence or choose to please our nature with foolish and selfish choices. And it’s fascinating that all these little choices add up and have significant impact in our lives and families over time.

Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance." — C.S. Lewis

So let me give you a helpful component to making good choices from good thinking. My Mom said it this way years ago: “When in doubt, don’t!”   Such smart advice becausewe often make poor decisions when pressured or pushed, and are coming from a place of anxiety or worry.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Col. 3:15

In the original Greek the word “rule” is connected with the word we use for umpire. Like a baseball umpire, we should allow the peace of Christ to rule in our hearts in such a way that peace calls the balls or the strikes in our decisions. Follow the path of peace when making decisions. After yielding the decision to the Holy Spirit with time and waiting upon him, and we find no peace, no assurance, then we should deny ourselves and let it go. When peace settles in and we sense his grace and security, then let thatbe a component of making good choices. The Holy Spirit as our umpire will lead us in the way of peace and what is best. Trust it and try it.
