Good Day To You,
In a recent survey the findings are intriguing:
78% of adults would enjoy an honest conversation with a friend about religious and spiritual beliefs.
Did you catch the keyword in the results of that survey where nearly 80% of adults would enjoy a discussion concerning spiritual matters, with a friend.
How would one taste and see that the Lord is good? We can at times acquire some flavor or taste about God through the beauty and goodness of creation and the displays of his handiwork, but most often we taste and see his goodness through the encounters we have with those who know him. A friend.
Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Ps. 34:9
Those who have taken refuge in him should be displaying “joys” - contagious, attractive, and a fulfilling life. If we, the followers of Jesus, intentionally connect and make friends with those in our circle of influence, and we have disciplined our lives to have some devotion to, and abiding love with Jesus, the outcome of such a relationship would be attractive joy. And I believe we would leave a good taste in their experience. Today, many have issues and bias against Christians, becausewhat they have often tasted is dogma, arrogance, disdain, and prejudice. I think most people still are positively impacted and their hearts warmed when they taste of the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, and so forth.
We should then live in such a way that others see good works and take notice of the Captain of our souls.
