Good Day To You,

I related this statement this past weekend, in my teaching, in regard to keeping your heart healthy and clean as you walk through life: “Keep your hands in an open posture.”

How does the position of your hands help or benefit your heart and soul?

Well, if everything we receive in this life is a gift and on loan from our Father in Heaven, and if we came into this world with nothing and walk out of this existence with no possessions or money or toys, then maybe we will not only have a greater appreciation and gratefulness for that which we have received, but our mentality and emotional health will prosper.

He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The LORD gave me what I had, and the LORD has taken it away. Praise the name of the LORD!” Job 1:24

Holding tightly or putting a death grip on what you’ve freely received will not only produce fatigue and worry, but also will keep you from being available to catch the next beautiful gift that is sent your way.

Steve Jobs the Apple computer CEO and multi-billionaire made this statement at the end of his life: "Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn't matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we've done something wonderful, that's what matters to me.”

You can’t take it with you, so send it on ahead by staying open-handed and generous with your love, faith, witness and grace. We all can do something wonderful by living to please our Heavenly Father and loving those around us as Jesus would have us do.

Q: What possession are you really thankful for?

Q: With an open-handed posture, in what other ways might God show up ?
