Journey
Good Day To You,
The stuff hits the fan! When you step outside your door and do life with people, stuff is bound to hit the fan. Offenses are going to happen. You will be impacted at some point by the pain of an insult or betrayal, rejection or abuse, and so forth. So you and I need to lock in on and maintain a heart and soul healing practice. Smart people prepare for the inevitable. Let me challenge you to have these three mindsets for health.
Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good, search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3:9-12
1. Set your mind and heart on the way God has created and designed our soul. Agree with his plan and focus for you - set your heart to his call. God wants you and I to agree to his calling, that in our interactions with people that we will find a way to bless them instead of responding with the same spirit.
2 Commit that you will work through your pain and get to the place of forgiveness. You may need to get help. But commit to it. Ask Holy Spirit to lead you into truth and to counsel you. It’s his promise to you. Release and forgive.
3. Predetermine that you will not allow yourself to become a victim and purpose to offer a blessing, not a payback of hurt or pain.
We see in the scripture there’s another amazing motivation for us to pursue our three points of heart care. When you offer a blessing to those who have hurt you, you will open the windows of Heaven for you to receive one or more blessings from God your Father. That sounds pretty good to me.
Q: In the scripture above what are a couple other promises to those who forgive and bless?
Q: There is mentioned in the scripture above two facial features of God. What might be the significance?
